Dr. Jody S. Greenfield, D.O., F.A.C.P.

Dr. Greenfield's mission is to provide personalized, high-quality care on an individualized basis. He has created a practice that serves the needs of patients frustrated with complex medical problems and diseases, including Lyme Disease, Tick-Borne Illnesses, and other Internal Medicine problems.

He is very knowledgeable about current ILADS treatment recommendations. He received ILADS training with Dr. Bernard Raxlen, LLMD, in NYC — a founding member of ILADS — and served as a physician in Dr. Raxlen's long-established Lyme Resource Medical practice.

Board-Certified in Internal Medicine, Dr. Greenfield formerly ran an Internal Medicine / Primary Care practice in Long Island, NY. He spends as much time as needed to listen to and evaluate his patients.

Dr. Greenfield personally battled severe Lyme disease. “I had Lyme disease badly. With much treatment, I am better now. Having lived through it, I know the symptoms, the fear, and the long road — and I know there is hope.” Today he enjoys the activities he once thought were lost, and understands exactly what his patients are going through.

Dr. Greenfield's office

In New York, Dr. Greenfield taught Internal Medicine residents at Long Island Jewish Medical Center while teaching medical students from Albert Einstein College of Medicine, where he held the rank of “Instructor in Medicine.” He later earned the rank of Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at Stony Brook University Hospital.

After various clinical settings, he opened his own primary care / Internal Medicine practice on Long Island, which he ran for 11 years. He received roughly two years of ILADS training in New York with Dr. Bernard Raxlen (LLMD & ILADS Co-Founder).

In June 2024 he was interviewed for the Dr. Talks Lyme Summit among other world-leading experts. In September 2023 he presented virtually to over 1,400 registrants at the Florida Osteopathic Medical Association meeting, and gave a live presentation at the ILADS Annual Scientific Meeting.

Dr. Jody S. Greenfield, D.O., FACP, has been recognized by the International Lyme and Associated Diseases Society (ILADS) as a member of the inaugural class of ILADS Fellows in the Society's Fellowship in Vector-Borne Illness Program.

The ILADS Board of Directors established this Fellowship to recognize physicians who have made significant contributions to the field through excellence in patient care, leadership, education, and advancement of evidence-based medicine. Dr. Greenfield was selected as part of a small inaugural group of physicians chosen according to specific criteria established by the ILADS Board.
